Quincy College offers free financial aid advice and help

QUINCY – Quincy College will offer free one-on-one financial aid advice and help with the Free Application for Federal Student Aid application form on Feb. 27 at the Quincy campus and on March 5 at the Plymouth campus as part of the statewide FAFSA Day.
Every high school senior, college student and adult student who is seeking federal, state and institutional financial aid for college must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA.

As part of FAFSA Day Massachusetts, Quincy College will provide free guidance, advice and assistance to students and families looking to complete the FAFSA application.

Quincy College will offer help on Feb. 27 in the fifth floor computer lab of the Quincy Campus at 1250 Hancock St. and on March 5 at the Plymouth campus at 36 Cordage Park.

Volunteer financial aid and higher education experts will provide families one-on-one assistance. They will answer all FAFSA questions and provide guidance on the financial aid process, review the differences between grants, scholarships, loans and federal work studies, and next steps after filing the FAFSA.
FAFSA Day Massachusetts events are being held on at more than 30 locations statewide on different days. The services are free and available to anyone attending college for the 2016-2017 academic year. Low-income and first-generation students are especially encouraged to attend. Many locations throughout the state will have services available in various languages.

Families and students are encouraged to visit www.FAFSADay.org to view locations, dates and times, to register, and to review a list of what to bring. Participants must already have an FSA ID user name and password to participate in FAFSA Day.
