Boston’s New Life Science Workforce Initiative

If you’re a resident of the City of Boston, the education and training you need for a career in the state’s life sciences industry is here at Quincy College – and it’s FREE!

Our new Biotech Bootcamp is a fast-track program that leverages our faculty expertise and state-of-the-art labs and biomanufacturing equipment to get Boston residents ready to the enter the fast-growing fields of biotechnology, biopharmaceutical engineering, and laboratory and health sciences.

Transportation Assistance will be provided for students in need

Job placement assistance will be available upon course completion. Students are expected to be employed 3 months after course completion.

Biomanufacturing Life Science Workforce Grant Program Requirements

  1. Candidates must be Boston, MA residents ONLY.
  2. Proof of high school/GED completion. Associate degree holders are accepted as well.
  3. Students can’t be enrolled in college, university, technical school or grant funded programs.

What is the Bootcamp Program:

  • Goal is to place participants into jobs in biotechnology & biopharmaceutical industry
  • Program has two components:
    • In-person teaching and hands-on experience with lab instrumentation used on the job.
    • One-on-One career coach to help participants plan, prepare and ace the job interview 
  • Participants will learn about molecular biology, biomanufacturing, upstream and downstream processes, cGMP

  • Provides participants with critical experience needed to get entry-level biomanufacturing jobs 
  • Transportation voucher to support public transportation expenses
