Quincy, MA:

Quincy College Head Coach Doug Scott knew Quincy College Granite drew a tough opponent in the quarterfinal round of the Region 21 NJCAA Tournament facing 4th seed University of Connecticut Avery Point. On Wednesday February 26th, Quincy Granite Men’s basketball fought hard on both side of offense and defensive play before a 102 to 85 loss to the Region 21 perennial power ending their playoff run and 2019-2020 season.

Quincy College Granite was led by Region 21 offensive leader, Anthony Peacock with 26 points and 15 rebounds. Cam Mason and Jerome Stephens followed with 19 points each, but the depth of U. Conn. was the difference as Quincy’s team finished a great season with a record of 16-7.

Coach Scott praised the efforts of all his players as they proudly represented Quincy College Athletics throughout the season. Granite will graduate 3 sophomores, but Scott is optimistic that many of this year’s team returning freshmen will come back to anchor an experienced group that could be Quincy’s best team yet in the 2020-2021 Men’s Basketball season.

Quincy College Athletic Director Jack Raymer praised the efforts of Coach Scott and his staff, Kendrick Jackson and Mike McGee:” Doug has become one of the most respected basketball coaches in the Region 21 conference and in three short years has made Quincy College Basketball the place where local basketball players want to go to help them achieve their basketball and academic goals.

Although the athletic teams have finished their seasons, Quincy College Granite Athletics job is just starting for Fall 2020 Recruitment.
