Dressing for Success is Key

Quincy College held its very first Career Fashion Show on Wednesday, April 16 during the school’s motivational Career Week event, which began on April 14. Students, faculty and staff gazed at the runway as students and a few QC staff members “strut their stuff.”

Outfits that were worn by the fashion show models and put on display were to give students ideas and tips on professional business attire to wear to an interview or in the workplace. Several of the models, all of whom are QC students, left a lasting impression on the audience with their flair – Agniezka Scherfenberg graced the runway with her flawless walk, Chantal George captivated the crowd with her energy and Levy Monteiro received quite a few looks from the ladies.

However, no one will ever forget the “what not to wear” trio Educational Services Specialist Tina Falconi, Director of International Services John Foley and International Admissions Officer Sheila Vaughan. The trio, whose attire was completely unprofessional, comical and an absolute DON’T, kept the audience roaring with laughter. Although their segment was very funny, their message was very clear – “Do not dress like this to an interview or to work.”

The Fashion Show turned out to be a great success. Plenty of help and support for the fashion show cam from QC staff including Dean Anna Williams-Cote, Dean Robert Baker, Janet McKeen, Greg Narleski, Sandra Smales, Elise Sullivan, Gary Wallrapp, emcee Rand Holman, Lisa Stack and members of the Gamma Beta Phi Society.

The entire Quincy College community is anticipating next year’s Career Week and Fashion Show to be an even bigger success.
