$500 scholarship (for Quincy College Courses Only)

Format:
  • Between 750 and 1250 words (three to five double spaced type-written pages).

  • Page one must include the applicant’s name, the title of the essay, and the date submitted. This information must be included in upper right hand corner of page one.

  • One inch margins-all around

  • Type font size must be no larger than 12 points.

  • The essay writer will develop an essay that interprets the theme by example, personal experience, research, advocacy of the theme, or by any other method that clearly indicates the intention of the theme.

    Consider these facts:

    • Motor vehicle accidents are the leading cause of death in the
United States for persons under age 34.
    • All injuries and deaths caused by drunk driving are preventable.
    • During 2004, there were 476 alcohol-related traffic deaths in Massachusetts
    • The more you drink, the more likely you are to have a fatal accident.

Deaths from alcohol-related accidents will not stop until people stop drinking and driving. The intent of the essay theme is to make everyone on campus aware of the dangers of drinking and driving.
