It’s getting closer!!

Now that you have applied to be a Quincy College graduate, I’m sure you have been contacted by the College in preparation for our May 19th Commencement Ceremony. We are working hard to make sure everything is in order so you may join us in celebrating your accomplishments. It’s been a long journey and we are proud of your success.

Currently, your degree audit has been completed, your payment records have been reviewed, and your student files have been organized. If you have been asked to transfer in a missing course, balance your account, return library books, complete an exit interview with Financial Aid, or submit a high school diploma, please do so immediately!

If you have been contacted and told that all items are in order and you are finishing the Spring semester, we are just waiting for final grades before calculating your cumulative GPA which must be a 2.0 or higher to graduate. Should there be an issue with your GPA, you will be notified by phone during the week prior to Commencement. Please read the checklist below to understand all of the requirements.

On this web page, we will post the student ID numbers of all applicants who are confirmed to graduate. By the time this is posted, all grades will be in and all final GPAs will be determined. What you need to know!

1. The 2007 Spring Commencement Ceremony will be held at the Marriott Hotel in Quincy, on Saturday, May 19th, 2007 beginning at 1:00pm. The Marriott Hotel is located in the Crown Colony Park in Quincy. Please see below for directions and map.

2. Graduates should report to the hotel by 11:00am. Upon arrival graduates will be directed to the appropriate area (based on the first letter of their last name) where they will be briefed on the protocol for the ceremony. Specific instructions for the processional and recessional will be given as well. There will be a coat check at the hotel, but there will not be secure area to leave personal belongings during the ceremony, so please plan accordingly.

3. Honor cords will be distributed to students exemplifying outstanding academic achievement. Students will be notified upon check in.

4. A professional photographer will be taking all graduates' photographs as they step down from the stage with their degree in hand. The photographer will provide information about purchasing photography packages and will also contact students at a later date to arrange delivery. Students are not obligated to purchase the professional photographs.

5. College ushers from Gamma Beta Phi will direct your family and guests to the appropriate seating for the ceremony in the ballroom. Although graduates must report at 11am, family and guests will not be ushered into the ballroom until approximately 12:30pm. Please plan accordingly.

6. All graduate applicants should be aware that to participate in the Commencement Ceremony you must have met all the requirements:

• completed all academic degree requirements
• achieved a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher
• paid Commencement fee
• settled all balances with the Business Office and/or Library
• attended an exit interview if you received Financial Aid

From the North:
Take I-93 South to Exit 7 (Route 3), immediately take exit 18 (Braintree/ Quincy). Bear left off ramp to (sign 'T' Train Station/Quincy). Follow to traffic lights and turn left onto Center St. Take immediate left into Crown Colony Park. Hotel is 1/4 mile ahead on the left on Marriott Drive.

From the South:
Take I-95 North to I-93. Take exit 7, Route 3 South (Braintree/Cape Cod). Take first exit (Exit 18), and turn left off ramp. Stay left until traffic light. Take left at light, and left into Crown Colony Park. Take a left onto Marriott Drive.
