Quincy College Inducts New Board Members
During a special session of the Board of Governors on
Wednesday, March 14th, Quincy College inducted six (6)
new members to its Board of Governors. The new members
are Jo-Ann M. Bragg, Mary Jo Brogna, Francis E. Byrne,
Edward M. Browne, Thomas G. Feenan and Pedro Viejo-Rodriguez.
The inductees were sworn in by Joseph Shea, City Clerk
of Quincy and the new members signed the Appointment
Register as they embarked on their new duties. The ceremony
was witnessed by Chairman of the Board Peter Tsaffaras,
Quincy College President Sue Harris, Quincy College executives,
faculty and staff and Board of Governors’ family
and friends.
The induction of the new members makes the Quincy College
Board complete with 13 Governors. The new members will
add a wide range of expertise as they come from various
sectors of the business world. Jo-Ann Bragg is the proprietor
of Up and Running, an income tax business based in Quincy.
Mary Jo Brogna is a nurse who has moved up the ranks
in hospital management to become Director of Throughput
for Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Edward M. Browne
is the Vice President of General Services at Quincy Medical
Center. Francis Byrne is a certified public accountant
who is Chief Compliance Officer for Southcoast Health
System, a chain of three large hospitals in Massachusetts.
Thomas G. Feenan, a former public school teacher, is
now Treasurer of FFG Mortgage Corporation. Finally, Pedro
Viejo-Rodriguez is an Associate Business Analyst for
Investors Bank and Trust who owns his own business and
is fluent in the Spanish language. Several of the new
Governors are graduates of Quincy College or have children
who are students. Several are also natives of Quincy.
All share a passion for higher education and the desire
to contribute to the community.
President of Quincy College Sue Harris was excited to
welcome the new group and remarked, “Quincy College
is a dynamic place for faculty, staff and students. We
have tremendous hopes for the future of this institution
and we appreciate your taking on this honorable task.
The Board of Governors plays a crucial role in forging
our future.”
