Third Annual Quincy College Health and Wellness Expo

Tuesday, October 17, 10:30 am – 2:30 pm

Location: The Atrium at President’s Place
Quincy Center, Quincy, MA

The goal of the annual expo is to promote physical and mental health for people of all ages and bring various community based organizations together in order to collaborate on effective ways to improve the health and wellness of Quincy residents. Now in its third year, this free community event continues to grow as hundreds of South Shore residents are expected to attend the expo.

According to Joe Bradley, Executive Director of College and Community Development, “The health expo focuses on general wellness, and will highlight health issues specific to the South Shore Region.” Over 30 exhibitors, including Quincy College RN students, are expected to be on hand with demonstrations, free prizes, snacks, and plenty of helpful tips. Representatives from the South Shore YMCA will be offering free fitness consultations along with body fat analysis. Quincy Medical Center staff will be providing free blood pressure screening. Bone density screening will be available through the Norwell Visiting Nurse Association.

Quincy College RN students will be presenting information on various topics including diabetes, hypertension, skin cancer, prostate cancer, AIDS, organ donation and child car seat safety to name just a few. Other exhibitors include: Blue Hills Tobacco Free Community Coalition Network, Quincy WIC Nutrition Program, South Bay Mental Health, DPH Health Education & Outreach Program, Superfitness, Hospice of the South Shore, Food Addicts in Recovery Anonymous, and the Quincy College Human Services Program.
