If anyone would ask me to define myself, then I would call myself a dreamer. I have always found myself chasing dreams and one of such chases has landed me here in the US. I came here with a goal of attending one of the best universities in US. But it didn’t take me long enough after getting here to find out that going to good universities in the US is not an easy task. My stomach dropped when I first learned about the high cost of going to good universities. My dreams seemed to crumble and it seemed funny and unrealistic against the fact that I came from a middle class family of one of the poor third world nations. My only choice left was to attend a 2 year community college and my search for a good community college landed me here at Quincy College. Since I always wanted to have a big university experience and had the idea that community colleges was not for me, I wasn’t excited to join Quincy College in the beginning.
After coming to Quincy College and started taking classes, I came to know that what I was holding against community college was wrong. Soon after starting my classes, I found myself excited to learn and I had great teachers whose constant support and guidance helped me make the most of my stay at Quincy College. The small classes actually provided me an opportunity for one-on-one with professors, which helped me grow a lot. My effort and dedication toward my study paid off in the form of scholarship that I received during my second semester. Quincy has given me all the hopes and confidence to do well in my education and has given me the vision towards making my dreams come true. With the hope of transferring to one of the best universities in the US, I am working on my dreams and by now I have realized that there’s nothing impossible as long as one has zeal and dedication to make it realized.
