Facilities Agent Plymouth Campus - Posting 5/1/10

Reporting to the Executive Director of Campus Services/Dean of Plymouth, this position is responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance, repairs and overall handy-man duties and to monitor and provide general up-keep and maintenance services to the college and its facilities, including but not limited to, painting, repair work, carpentry, flooring, office arranging (moving and set-up), white board and classroom upkeep, trash disposal as directed, meeting set-up and break down, and ensuring the overall building upkeep is maintained at a high standard. Primary duties include but are not limited to:

  • Performs maintenance and repairs as directed and provides timely response to issues.
  • Carries out a campus-wide preventative maintenance plan.
  • Effectively operates within the facilities budget.
  • Effectively monitors services provided by vendor representatives and ensures compliance of all regulations, procedures and laws.
  • As directed, and in accordance with applicable requirements, procedures and laws, arranges for facilities-related supplies, and equipment;
  • Monitors and provides general up-keep and maintenance services to the college and its facilities
  • Performs tasks related to office re-arranging, moving and set-up;
  • Performs classroom upkeep, including white board cleaning, trash disposal as necessary, and room arrangement for classes meetings and special events;

Educational Criteria: High school or technical school degree, G.E.D or equivalent required; Associates degree preferred.  A valid unrestricted Massachusetts driver's license required.

Qualifications: Six months to one year of relevant experience required.  Maintenance preferred.  Basic working knowledge of computers helpful and working knowledge of printing and post office operations is highly desirable. Must have a valid unrestricted MA driver’s license and a reliable vehicle for travel and delivery between campus buildings.

Allied Health

Dean of Nursing and Allied Health Services – Initial Posting 7/31/2009; Correction 10/19/09

Under the direction of the Vice President of Academic Affairs, the Dean of Allied Health Services is responsible for the management of the College’s Allied Health programs; evaluation and oversight of faculty; development and assessment of curriculum; ensuring the maintenance of high academic and ethical standards; appropriate and timely resolution of student concerns; program planning; serves as principal liaison with health care agencies, hospitals, and clinical sites; ensures ongoing compliance with all regulatory, licensing, and accreditation requirements. Primary duties include but are not limited to:

  • In collaboration with faculty, develops short and long term goals, implements strategies to meet those goals, and evaluates achievement of those goals;
  • Supervises the instructional quality of all courses within the Allied Heath Program and academic support whenever and wherever they occur;
  • Oversees the Allied Health program, and core curriculum program reviews, and develops new academic programs as appropriate;
  • Through the chairs, ensures that course outlines and syllabi are current, outcomes-based, and consistently follow established college guidelines;
  • Evaluates Allied Health staff, and faculty members, according to established college criteria;
  • Recommends hiring, reappointment, promotion, tenure, and all other personnel actions for Allied Health;
  • Fosters professional development for faculty and staff that is consistent with the mission of the Allied Health and college-wide goals;
  • Develops budget for the Allied Health, represents the Allied Health at budget hearing, recommends budget to the Vice President, and monitors allocation of resources;
  • Coordinates course scheduling with the Enrollment Services office, and other college programs as appropriate;
  • With Chairs and Coordinators coordinates faculty instructional needs including textbooks, instructional equipment and supplies, library acquisitions, and other related support;
  • Coordinates assessment and retention efforts at the School of Allied Health;
  • Oversees strategies for student recruitment and retention;
  • Coordinates faculty participation in community and public school outreach programs;

  • Participate with other members of the teaching team in the planning, organizing implementing and evaluating nursing courses;

Instructor, History/Government (September 1, 2010 start date)

All faculty are first members of the Quincy College faculty.  As such, it is to be understood that the faculty member assumes an obligation to comply with the philosophy and mission of Quincy College. Under the direction of the Dean, Liberal Arts the faculty member will serve as the Quincy College academic expert within the field of History, and carry out other job related duties as assigned.  Duties which may be assigned to a faculty member are set forth in the Quincy Education Association Agreement.  Other responsibilities include student advising, curriculum development, assignment to College committees and other responsibilities as assigned by the Dean. Essential duties include assuming a leadership role in delineating and articulating  content in assigned courses; collaborating with other appropriate faculty in the planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating of  courses; collaborating with other appropriate faculty to facilitate and integrate correlated approach to course offerings; participating with others in the annual review of revision of course outlines, bibliographies, study guides, media, and other related course materials; demonstrating motivation, self-direction, and perseverance toward achieving the philosophy and mission of the Liberal Arts Program; engaging in the academic life of the college by serving on college committees. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Peer Tutors – Initial Posting 5/1/10

A peer tutor helps students achieve their academic goals.  He/she has a positive attitude, gives encouragement, and helps with assignments.  Being a peer tutor means listening effectively.  Peer tutors must be committed to working with students from diverse socio-economic, cultural, ethnic, and linguistic backgrounds.  Tutors will work individually or in small groups with students who need extra support in academic coursework.

  There is an immediate need for peer tutors in Accounting, Mathematics, and Computer Science.  Tutors are also needed, per student requests, in English, ESL, Physics, Chemistry, Anatomy and Physiology, Biology, and Nursing.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

·         Individual and small group tutoring;

·         Adhering to NLC record-keeping practices;

·         Maintaining discretion regarding student contact;

·         Working as a member of the NLC team;

·         Other related duties as assigned.

 

Educational Criteria:  Applications must have earned a grade of B+ or above in their subject area or in previous coursework.

 

Qualifications:  Applications need the recommendation of a Quincy College Instructor and should possess good English communications skills.  All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply, including those with bilingual abilities.
