Quincy College offers a variety of services available to students
who ultimately are seeking to attend a four-year college. Among the
most popular of these services are the joint admissions agreements
that Quincy College maintains with several area colleges.
Joint Admission Agreements
Under the joint admissions process, when a student
is admitted to Quincy College, he or she may also apply
to the participating four-year college for admission. This is a fairly
informal process:
- Simply complete a form directed to the four-year college
indicating your interest and we will forward
that to the college, along with your Quincy College application
(and transcript, if you
have already earned credits at Quincy College).
- The
four- year college will then contact you with
their decision. Once accepted into the program, students
must follow a predetermined course of study at Quincy College (available
in a number of majors
including business transfer, early childhood
education, liberal arts - English/math/science/government/labor
management relations)
and maintain a minimum grade point average.
- If the student meets these requirements,
upon receiving their Associate’s Degree from Quincy College,
they then will typically commence their studies
at the four-year college as a junior,
without having to go through the application
and acceptance process for that school.
Colleges that Quincy College maintains joint
admissions agreements are:
- Bridgewater State College
- University of Massachusetts at Boston
- University of Massachusetts
at Dartmouth
Articulation Agreements:
Quincy College also maintains articulation agreements
with other colleges. Under these agreements, students who take certain
courses at Quincy College, and receive at least the minimum required
grade for each course (usually not less than a C), are assured that
those credits will transfer to the four-year college. This lets the
student know beforehand whether these courses will transfer, eliminating
some of the anxiety of the transfer process.
Quincy College maintains articulation agreements with:
- Anna Maria
College (criminal justice)
- Curry College (business
administration, criminal justice, and liberal
arts)
- Emmanuel College (nursing)
- Massachusetts College of Pharmacy (nursing)
- Newbury College (business
administration, criminal justice)
- Pine Manor College
(liberal arts)
- Framingham State College (nursing)
