WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT QUINCY COLLEGE?
It is the people that I love - the interaction with
- the people. It's the amazing administration that
I work with, the highly qualified faculty I work
for, and the students I can help with their academic
aspirations, professional skills and personal needs.
I started working at Quincy College in 1997 and can't
believe how quickly time has gone
by. The Quincy College campus is, to me, a family.
A family with the same purpose: to be supportive
in the educational offerings of excellence to all.
I treat each student as though they are the most
important person on campus; each person is!
WHAT IS YOUR PHILOSOPHY OF STUDENT DEVELOPMENT?
As someone who deals with students outside of the classroom, I believe
Student Development is an ongoing process to serve our students with
their needs, (as much as possible). I am thrilled to be working in
academic affairs, being able to advise, inform, occasionally proctor
an exam, and carefully give appropriate direction to students along
the road in their educational journey. I believe in taking each student
at their point of readiness, encouraging them, giving them there sources,
offering the rigorous curriculum and cultivating the stage of development,
improving their learning and critical thinking skills so they can
achieve their (potential) best. It's exciting to be a part of and
to watch the progress that's been made in student services - it's
how we define the components of the standards for our mission, identifying
areas of concern in student development, and then continuing to go
in that direction, as well as so very many exciting things to do socially,
that just seems to connect the entire campus and make Quincy College
the fabulous college that it is.
