WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT QUINCY COLLEGE?
We enjoy the people who are Quincy College; the administration
staff, the faculty and most importantly the students.
Together we make a great team. Bev is one of the
recent staff members but it seems like she has been
part of the “family” forever. It is a
nice feeling. Rose has been at the college over 17
years. For her, this is home. The hard work and dedication
to Quincy College and its’ students of the
administration and faculty is impressive. Everyone
takes that extra step to
help any student with a problem and that is what
makes this a great place to work and learn.
WHAT IS THE IMPORTANCE OF FINANCIAL AID?
Financial Aid is really about breaking down one of the major barriers
to education. Financial Aid is whatever kind of funding a person receives
to attend college. PELL grants, MASS grants, SEOG grants, work study
and federal loans are all forms of financial aid. If financial aid
was not available for students to attend college then in is very likely
that many students would not be able to attend college. It is the
help that a student receives to fulfill a dream. It is the help that
allows a student to reach a goal that he or she may have believed
to be out of reach. It is sometimes difficult for students to realize
that if they are not eligible for grants then they usually have access
to the federal loan program that will help them to complete their
college education. Many students believe that they should not borrow
money to attend college and it is important for them to understand
that borrowing money for school is acceptable. They do have to pay
it back but it is for a good cause. Education is important; it is
not a luxury and if the only way for someone to receive that education
is to borrow money to get it then that is acceptable.
