QUINCY COLLEGE CHANGED MY LIFE

I never imagined any of this.

In what seemed like the blink of an eye, an accident changed my life forever. After many years, I was starting from scratch. Fortunately I had a supportive family and a network of friends to help me along the way.

Whatever plans I might have had were going to have to be modified. My educational journey led me to Quincy College in 1994. There were many reasons why I selected Quincy, but I had no idea what to expect once I enrolled.

I've told the story many, many times, but its all true. At Quincy, everyone reached out to help me, and to challenge me. They understood my point of view, but they never once cut corners or lowered expectations. When I started to slack, they pushed me.

When I graduated I felt an enormous sense of pride and ability. That same network of friends and family was there to join me in the celebration. And, that circle of friends had grown to include faculty, staff and fellow students.

In 2002 I was fortunate to be appointed to the Quincy College Board of Governors, as an alumni member. The chance to give back to the college was an opportunity I couldn't resist.

I know that times change, and things don't always
go smoothly for people. I do know that for people
like me, for nearly 50 years, Quincy College has
been there to help.
