QUINCY COLLEGE CHANGED MY LIFE


Judith McDevitt loves boats. She’s a U.S. Merchant Marine License Master and a tugboat captain. She also loves painting and is a Fine Arts major at Quincy College.

Judith is not your conventional student; like many of Quincy College’s students. Judith lived on Peddocks Island for many years and always dreamed of going back to college. Finally, after buying a house on the main land, she was able to start her journey at Quincy College.

She began studying English, but once the Fine Arts Program was launched she saw an opportunity to hone her love of painting.

Her goal is to one day write of her life experiences on the sea and illustrate her stories with her art. Her works published in the College’s arts and literary journal prove she’s on her way.

Judith knows the value of life-long learning. Quincy College has changed her life and given her the confidence to reach for her dreams.
