WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT QUINCY COLLEGE?

This truly is the college of opportunity. As a graduate (over thirty years ago) I know full well of the thousands of people whose lives have been changed by the excellent education they received here. Having been born and raised in Quincy, I’m very aware of the many who would never have had the chance to go on to college if it were not for our existence. I love every minute that I spend here.

WHAT IS YOUR PHILOSOPHY OF TEACHING?

I use a variety of teaching methods to create a dialogue back and forth among the varied cultures, values and behaviors to connect students to each other and me. I am not an authoritarian type of instructor but more of a facilitator using a form of what I call mental playfulness in which students feel safe and eager to learn. I talk about choices made in the past, which affect us today. I am a strong advocate of writing to stretch minds, to analyze and think about the events and concepts. ACCESSIBILITY and OPENNESS are the corner stones of my teaching philosophy.
