QUINCY COLLEGE CHANGED MY LIFE

There is no doubt that to this day I have lived an amazing life and I have no regrets. However, since I enrolled in classes I have noticed a change that would never have occurred if it weren’t for a few events that took place in my life.

I have lived in Quincy my whole life, attended Quincy High and Quincy Junior College. I began to work during school, until I was offered a full time position with a local insurance firm. In 1994 I left my job because of a disability, and since then have found it hard to go back to work because of my inexperience with computers.

I decided to return to Quincy College to learn about computers. One day while in class, my instructor told me that I was nervous about the quality of my work for no reason, and that I should have more confidence in myself. She inspired me to set higher goals for myself.

I have decided to work towards receiving an associate’s degree, and eventually will apply for a professional job with a new insurance firm. Thanks to my instructors I have more confidence, and I find myself helping younger students with their work in all of my courses.

I cannot wait to start over again; it is truly a journey that would never have been possible without Quincy College.
