Beth Bechard, Class of 2004
QUINCY COLLEGE CHANGED MY LIFE
If you do the math, I could have completed two Bachelor’s Degrees in the
time it took to complete my Associate’s Degree, but I would not give up
those eight years for anything.
It was 1996 and after years of soul searching
and even a longer span of time away from the classroom, I decided to return
to school. This
was such a difficult decision, I thought that the
rest would get easier…boy
was I wrong! I needed to find a school that fit my
needs, my lifestyle, and my budget. I had to work full time so I needed to
find a school
that understood that students had lives and obligations
outside of the classroom. I needed to find a place where I could grow and that
other students like me would be there to change their
lives.
I found Quincy College.
In 1996 I signed up for my first class, Introduction to Psychology.
I loved it! Thanks to my wonderful instructor, my family, the friends
I made, and the support of the school, I returned for another course.
I took one or two classes each semester…slowly but surely. In
the Spring of 2004, I was awarded my Associate’s Degree.
Quincy College taught me that dreams really can come true.
