PUBLIC NOTICE
Quincy College Announcement
Quincy College, Quincy MA 02169, will undergo a comprehensive evaluation
visit from October 29th to November 1st 2006, by a team representing
the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education of the New England
Association of School and Colleges.
The Commission on Institutions of Higher Education is one of the
eight accrediting commissions in the United States that provide institutional
accreditation on a regional basis. Accreditation is voluntary and
applies to the institution as a whole. The Commission, which is recognized
by the U.S. Department of Education, accredits approximately 200 institutions
in the six-state New England area.
Quincy College has been accredited by the Commission since December
4th 1980 and was last reviewed in November 1996 (11.17.96 to 11.20.96).
Its accreditation by the New England Association encompasses the entire
institution.
For the past two years, Quincy College has been engaged in a process
of self-study, addressing the Commission’s Standards for Accreditations.
An evaluation team will visit the institution to gather
evidence to determine that the self-study is thorough
and accurate. The team will recommend to the Commission
a continuing status for
the institution; following a review process, the Commission
itself will
take the final action.
The public is invited to submit comments regarding the institution
to:
Public Comments on Quincy College
Commission on Institutions of Higher Education

Comments must address substantive matters related to the quality
of the institution. Comments will not be treated as confidential.
Written, signed comments must be received by November 1st 2006.
The Commission cannot guarantee that comments received
after the due date will be considered. Comments should
include the name, address,
and telephone number of the person providing the comments.
The Commission cannot settle disputes between individuals, and institutions,
whether those involve faculty, students, administrators,
or members of other groups. Individuals considering
submitting complaints against
an affiliated institution should request the separate
Policy and Procedure for the Consideration of Complaints
Made Against Affiliated Institutions
from the Commission office.

Welcome to the Quincy College
accreditation web page.
Quincy College is scheduled for a comprehensive
re-accreditation evaluation by a team representing
the New England Association
of Schools and Colleges in the fall of 2006. As a part of the re-accreditation
process, Quincy College must undertake a self-study, appraising itself and
projecting the status in each of the eleven
standards.
This gives us an opportunity to evaluate our strengths and weaknesses and
prepare for our future. It is important that all constituents of the community
take an
active role in this assessment. Various committees have been constituted
and the self-study process has begun in all eleven standards. This web page
will
be updated regularly. Please browse the page for additional information and
email your comments
and suggestions to: accreditation@quincycollege.edu. Sincerely,
Martha Sue Harris
President
